Digital Learning Promotion Office

About:
The Information Center utilizes technology and a wireless network to provide an individualized, productive, personalized, and global technology-enhanced learning environment for elementary and junior high schools in Tainan.

Purposes:
The Information Center aims to manage and procure mobile learning devices, promote technology-enhanced learning in elementary and junior high schools, and enhance the quality of technology-enhanced teaching and learning outcomes.

Organization Structure:

1. Information Technology Section

  • Improve educational software and digital content in classrooms, meet teaching needs, provide convenience for preparing curricula, and diversify teaching methods and strategies.
  • Based on big data analysis, provide students with personalized learning and provide learning analysis reports for teachers, schools, and parents to achieve individualized learning and adaptive instruction.

2. Curriculum and Instruction Section

  • Guide students to use ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to improve their learning, cultivate their self-regulated learning, cooperative learning, problem-solving ability, and creativity, and foster their attitudes and habits of using ICT in a healthy, reasonable, and legal way.
  • Train teachers to use technology and improve their technology-enhanced teaching ability. Combine mobile learning devices and educational software with digital content to support teaching and learning more efficiently and diversify teaching methods and strategies.

3. Administration Section

  • Plan development for technology-enhanced teaching and learning.
  • Control and manage the progress of development.

 

New Curriculum Office


A large-scale curriculum reform for K-12 education that emphasizes the cultivation of core competencies has been launched in 2019. New Curriculum Office was established to implement measures regarding new curriculums to meet K-12 educational requirements. Important jobs include composing task groups, improvement projects, professional development projects for teachers and etc.

Aborigines Education Resource Center

about

  • The Tainan City Aboriginal education resource was center was founded on Aug. 1st , 2015.in the center we have a Kitulu Library, an artifact exhibition room, showing aboriginal artifacts, videos and information. we also have a multi-purpose room, education hall, information and language learning section to promote aboriginal language and culture, promoting aboriginal cultural and lingual education programs for aboriginal students in Tainan, such as introducing aboriginal culture, aboriginal story book making, arts and craft, traditional dance and music, and interaction with tribal schools;Also supporting the local education program, such as the municipal mother language activity, aboriginal culture experiencing, aboriginal kid education camp, and tribal language teachers’ workshop, to enhance the understanding towards aboriginal culture in Tainan City, showing respect and care among tribes to achieve the goal of multi culture exchange.
  • The center’s formal form is the aboriginal education resource center funded by the council of indigenous people in 2006. Due to the landscape of Tainan City, our center is a municipal education resource center rather than going into the tribes, providing more opportunities for aboriginal students to expose to their culture. Tainan City doesn’t have an original tribe, before finding the center, the interaction between aboriginal groups was well, coordinated to hold all sorts of traditional aboriginal culture experience. Especially collecting 16 aboriginal tribe languages, artifacts, music, holy bible and hymns in Wade-Giles system of Romanization, totems, agricultural tools, toys, hunting tools, and everyday products, including self-documenting teaching material. The center owns the biggest collection of information in Taiwan. Students can study the language proficiency materials given by the Council of Indigenous People, and the supplementary materials made from the center.

Indigenous Education Resource Center (Bureau of Education, Tainan City) a great achievement: the basic training program of teaching design for indigenous-language teachers in August 2018.
*The director of the Indigenous Education Resource Center gave a talk for the purpose of this training program.
*An ethology Professor of National ChengChi University, KUAN Da-wei, gave a lecture about the traditional ecological knowledge of the indigenous people in Taiwan.
*Everyone was learning a lot of the knowledge of the indigenous history at the end of the training class.

  • Responsible for  providing enough manpower to subordinate junior high schools to counsel students for fitness
  • Enhancing educators’ counsel for fitness ability.
  • Establishing a way for parents, social groups and enterprises to participate in students’counselling for fitness
  • Accepting cases from subordinate high school, providing career advisory and consulting service

Professional Personal training

  • Responsible for supervising advisors and school counsellors
  • Providing workshops and programs for advisors and school counsellors
  • Assist in planning school counsellors research development assessment
  • Coordinate training for professional advisory interns

Special Education Resource Center

Function:

  • Providing all levels of education establishment resource and counselling, Tainan City Bureau of Education particularly established a special education centerin Yongfu elementary, Gongchen Elementary, giving students and parents an all-around support and service.
  • Our major business are education phase identification, counselling, and placement assessment for special students. Having a complete notification system, knowing the needs and status of special students,fulfilling adapting physical education. Counselling mechanism providing physical, competency, language, professional treatment team social workers to our home and school to provide service and counsel, providing supporting items and learning materials, improving the quality of Tainan City special education.

Function:
Establishing a digital environment for the bureau of education, planning and providing professional tech support.
