8. Hosted the 2015 Tainan City International Youth Baseball Match – Giant Cup | 31 baseball youth elite teams were invited domestically to participate in this sporting event hosted from September 30, 2015 to October 4, 2015. It was also the first time that City of Chandler from Arizona, U.S. was invited to Taiwan to visit and take part in the match. Participants reached 800 people. Created a new highlight for Tainan City – “Astronomy in the Early Morning” | Tainan Astronomical Education Area promoted the program of “Astronomy in the Early Morning” to nurture volunteering school parents to become potential teachers. Self-study time in the early morning was used to organize activities and introduce astronomical knowledge to schools. 10. Organized Tainan Astronomy Carnival and science education | Tainan Astronomy Carnival, consisted of a series of events, is hosted by Tainan Astronomical Education Area during summer vacation from July to August. It features a different theme each year with a variety of educational activities on astronomy. In 2015, the carnival theme was “Sailing to the Starry Sky”, which incorporated “One Piece” (a popular Japanese cartoon) and attracted over 10,000 people to attend. In 2016, the theme will be “Fire Away! 11. Set up a single national hotline (412-8185) on family education counseling | Tainan residents were provided with counseling service on issues related to family education through the Family Education Hotline (412-8185). Tainan City assumed the leading role in offering counseling hotline to Southern Taiwan, and supported other counties and cities to run this service. It was also delegated by the Ministry of Education to be in charge of the “Operation and Maintenance of National Family Education Counseling Hotline”.Serviced 1,012 cases in 2015.
